I often enjoy the comments found on political blogs. This particular topic discusses the intersection of the Gulf oil spill and the AZ law requiring enforcement of existing federal law. What they have in common is that they shine a light on (more of) Obama's priorities and incompetences.

A key point in the post illuminates the fact that the spill began 3 days before the AZ law was signed. "But instead of immediately engaging with this crisis, our President chose to spend precious time on political pet causes like haranguing the state of Arizona for doing what he himself was supposed to do – secure the nation’s border (one of a President's main responsibilities). He also spent much time fundraising and politicking for liberal candidates and causes while we waited for him to grasp the enormity of the Gulf spill."

Another key point: that the 1990 Oil Pollution Act, drafted in response to the Exxon-Valdez spill, puts the federal govt in charge of operations in such times. Obama was mandated to form his Incident Command System immediately such that BP and Gov. Jindal didn't have to plead for resources weeks into the incident.

The post asks "Why have several countries and competent organizations who offered help or expertise in dealing with the spill not even received a response back from the Unified Area Command to this day?" From day one, this was (and is) Obama's authority and responsibility, by law.

So it took Barry 3 weeks to acknowledge the spill though he was quite vocal about the AZ law from the very day it was signed. Both are his responsibility, and both he neglects. Say what you will about Bush II but at least he was active in securing our borders and construction of border wall.

In a way, I’m glad Dear Liar is president now. If He had another 15-20 years of experience, He would be much more dangerous and competent.

This President has done EVERYTHING wrong so far and folks attribute this to incompetence. How does an incompetent person make exactly the wrong decisions each time it comes along. How does an entire administration make the exact wrong decision every single time a decision comes along? How does an ENTIRE party make exactly the wrong decisions EVERY single time? Do you seriously want to believe that it is incompetence? Do you not want to at least consider the possibility that it is intentional?

What are the implications of that? Scary? Is that why you choose not to face it?

What the hell were they doing when Gov Jindal was requesting help to protect the shorelines of Louisiana?

He can’t fight the narrative that he was AWOL by insisting they were there from day one, while at the same time blaming BP and Transocean for the slow clean up effort that he was supposedly thinking about every waking minute.

He cannot wiggle out of the fact that much of the mess on the coastline could have been prevented if they had acted according to the plan that was already on the shelf, and the 1990 law that Palin pointed out in her post.

Why do folks think he is incompetent? Maybe he is achieving exactly what he wants to achieve? Why isn’t that obvious?

He is trying to ruin this country. Destroying our ability to drill baby drill will go a good ways to aiding that goal. These folks are 60’s radicals even if they weren’t old enough then…they HATE this country. They have wanted to destroy it’s systems since then…they finally have enough power to do so.

Perhaps if the oil leak was barring Mexican citizens from illegally invading the southern borders of our country it would have piqued his interest and garnered his lofty attention.

And let’s not forget Obama went to Asheville for his little weekend getaway with Michelle and Chicago cronies, shortly after the spill. Not exactly showing “I’m in charge,” if you’re relaxing in the mountains at a fancy resort.

I don’t see how the president’s position and popularity can survive the oil spill. This is his third political disaster in his first 18 months in office. And they were all, as they say, unforced errors, meaning they were shaped by the president’s political judgment and instincts.

There was the tearing and unnecessary war over his health-care proposal and its cost. There was his day-to-day indifference to the views and hopes of the majority of voters regarding illegal immigration. And now the past almost 40 days of dodging and dithering in the face of an environmental calamity. I don’t see how you politically survive this.

Timing. All eyes are on the incompetence piece (Gulf clusterfuck being the latest) while BO's Chicago colleague goes to trial for corruption. The same brand of corruption we're still seeing out of Obama even in his new digs. Though he thinks "everybody does it" (no doubt it seems so back home), it appears that Chicago politics aint playing well in D.C. Hey what's the latest on the Sestek and Romanoff 'jobs for favors' criminal thingy?

As a side note, I'd like to wish O-Whateverthefuckhisnameis a Happy Father's Day. Everyone knows O-Whateverthefuckhisnameis grew up without a father. Perhaps this can be overcome by trashing the country and making everyone feel the same sense of loss and abandonment and lack of a spiritual center. Perhaps we are supposed to take stock of how we got into a situation like this in which somehow America is now a support group for the POTUS, who is the child of a single mother.
